£15 million for Tierney? Not anymore.

Kieran Tierney showed us 3 things last night that weren’t clear beforehand, he can play Centre Back, he can captain the side and he can score belters from distance.

It is the first of the 3 which will catapult his worth, it is one thing to be a box to box wing back, it is another thing to be a quality Centre Back who can take the ball straight up the middle, like say Virgil.

Van Dijk has a great ability to take the ball out from the centre of defence with the ball at his feet, eyes up and options open.

We saw much the same from KT last night, he looked like a career CB.

His leadership was seamless and those senior to him in years paid him the respect due to a Celtic captain, he looked the part there too.

His goal will be long celebrated, it has to be up there as a goal of the year contender less than a fortnight into the season.

What can you say about the Celts across the park, they were simply magnificent.

Calvin Miller looks a fine prospect and Ralston’s performance will be giving Lustig and Gamboa a headache, I could see long Celtic careers for both.

They are not ready to make the final step, they already have, both would walk into any other SPFL team, no wonder Brendan doesn’t want to buy.

Ajer too was impressive as was Kouassi who was unfortunately injured.

Young Kundai Benyu looks a gem, he strolls around the park before exploding into action, the more game time this lad gets the better he will become, he was a joy to watch.

As was Johnny Hayes, he was always dangerous and linked up well with Rogic and Griffiths in particular, he looks worth every bit of the £1.3 million we paid.

Oliver Ntcham came on and did nothing wrong, I will state that I am a big fan and I think he has a huge Parkhead future.

Armstrong showed us why we would love to keep him, he was dangerous throughout and ultimately picked up his reward with a goal late on.

If he stays or goes means a little less knowing we have players like Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic and Kundai Benyu ready and waiting to fill his place.

All in all, it was a great game to watch, with an improvised team we never had our goal threatened and controlled the match from the outset.

When you think our Centre Backs were 20 and 19 years old, our Left Back 19 and our Right Back just 18, it shows the depth of talent we have at our club.

Jozo Siminovic turned 23 a few days ago, he is positively antique compared to these Bhoys!

The future is ours.
