3 points from meltdown

Celtic have a must win game tomorrow, there is no other way of looking at it, not just for the sake of maintaining our lead, but to quieten the ever-growing group of doubters within our own support.

I believe we will win tomorrow, that the disappointment of the Zenit defeat will draw a reaction from the playing group and that they will seize their opportunity to essentially finish Aberdeen’s campaign.

If we do win, let us be clear the Premiership will become a 2 horse race, if we lose or even draw it will remain open to all 3.

We have a tough draw of games over the next month with Aberdeen, Dundee, Sevco and Motherwell coming up.

The Dons will be no easy beats tomorrow but beat them we must, Dundee at home is 3 points we must bank on, Sevco away a challenge and Motherwell away a very thorny game with plenty of spite categorising our last spate of games.

That our fans have become uneasy with the state of not just our Euro exit but many of our own players is troubling, I am no different, I was devastated by the manner of our defeat as much as by the score.

But Europe is gone for another year, the Premiership remains and so does the Scottish Cup, we are not a fallen side, we are a team with massive injury concerns in a slump due to a lack of continuity.

For all the excuses, if we do not walk away from Pittodrie with 3 points tomorrow we will have the wrath not of the media or the deluded to deal with.

We will have to worry about our increasingly impatient fans.

Tomorrow, only 3 points will do.
