5 players to sign this window

I read in Phil Mac Giolla Bhains blog a few days back that a source at Celtic had suggested up to 5 arrivals at Paradise this window with a couple of them walking straight into the team and a few projects for the future.

Phil makes more sense than most so I will take his source as a starting point, what 5 players would we like to see at Celtic this January?

John McGinn

The Hibs midfielder looks to be the standout footballer not playing in Hoops in Scotland and should be snapped up this winter.

His displays against Celtic have been outstanding and his control of the midfield is reminiscent of former Hibee Scott Brown.

Broony will be at Paradise for years to come but having a readymade replacement would be an addition who would get immediate playing time and develop into a regular player.

Yesterday the Scotsman suggested £2.5 million plus Liam Henderson would get the deal done, if that is accurate then that would be worthwhile for all parties.

Good money for Hibs, a good player for Celtic and the best possible environment for Liam to resurrect his career.

Lewis Morgan

The St. Mirren attacking midfielder is in hot form in the Championship with Brendan reportedly being an admirer of the Scottish under 21 internationalist.

This player would very much fit the mold of one for the future, a gem that would be shaped at Lennoxtown and possibly on loan.

He is in the last 6 months of his contract so the Buddies may well want to make some money on him before he signs a pre-contract.

If a fee can be agreed, the option exists to loan him straight back to St. Mirren for the remainder of the season.

Jack Hendry

The Dundee defender was a guest at Paradise for our last match vs Anderlecht with Rodgers again an admirer of the young Scot.

Celtic are in dire need at the back and despite his age could find himself thrust into the centre of defence sooner rather than later.

Due to his young age, there is plenty of scope for his development and he could well prove an asset in later campaigns.

But with Celtic needing solutions not just in Europe but domestically as well, signing him up and giving him an immediate opportunity makes a lot of sense.

Michel Vorm

With Craig Gordon looking suspect in Europe, Celtic fans have been calling for his head with every error meticulously scrutinized.

Michel Vorm played his best football under Rodgers at Swansea and has gone from a keeper wanted by giants to a second choice player at Tottenham.

In his 4 years in North London, he has made just 10 appearances and none this season.

He enters the last 6 months of his contract in January and would be available on a pre-contract, however, a nominal fee would almost certainly sway Spurs into selling him to Celtic.

£5 million+ central defender

The last acquisition would be for an established Centre Back who would walk straight into the team.

We are in need of a leader at the back to settle our defensive woes.

I am sure Brendan has targets in mind and hopefully, the board will back his ambition with hard money.

The club is flush with money, we have never had more of it at any period of our history, it is time to spend.
