Bitton and Allan plus cash for McGinn

Nir Bitton is currently crocked but is due to resume training in the coming weeks and will be available for selection in the 2018-19 season, however, will he be selected?

He has not been a regular player or even bench player at Celtic since Rodgers came to Paradise as Brendan doesn’t play 2 defensive midfielders alongside each other as Ronny did.

With Eboue Kouassi also being groomed as Broony’s long-term replacement and talk that McGinn is himself that player, the idea of bringing McGinn to Paradise to compete with 3 other players for 1 position seems foolish.

Especially when Brown has a mortgage on the position.

Last week Maccabi Haifa were rumbling around for a bid for the Isreali International which wasn’t shot down by the club but the player himself.

He stated i the Daily Record:

“I am not going back to Israel, it’s not on my agenda.

“I am currently injured and I am under contract with Celtic until 2020. I am not interested in a transfer.”

I can’t blame him for not wanting to go back to Isreal to be part of a team who are 9th in Isreal’s top league, it would be a major step backward for him.

However it would be fresh money to buy a fresh player for Celtic, TransferMarkt rates him at 2.25 million euros and so about 2 million pounds.

If we were to value to Allan at £200,000, that would mean anywhere between £1.8 and £2.8 million in cash plus those players would meet Hibernian’s valuation.

The player would continue his career in Europe and get game time, Celtic would get a player who looks the best of the rest in the Premiership and someone who we would be able to use from the outset.

For Hibs, they would be getting a player who was himself signed by Neil Lennon back in 2013 and one that could walk straight into their team.

They would also receive Allan who is playing his best Football under the former Hoops gaffer and a handy payout as well.

For example, £1.8 million upfront with another million if he plays 100 games, a good bit of business for everyone.

McGinn looks a player who could have a long Hoops career, this summer we should move to bring him in, at the same time, Bitton is surplus to requirements and needs sold.

This would be the best and cheapest way for both clubs and all players concerned.
