Compper out for a month, time to buy Hendry

Terrible news today that Marvin Compper the player expected to walk straight into the first team will be out for 4 weeks.

The new Celtic defender has picked up a calf injury that will see him out of action for the return of the season, with Sviatchenko away on loan our defensive stocks are now threadbare.

We have struggled at Centre Back all season, with 2 weeks left in the window, it is a blessing this happened now and not in a fortnight.

Jack Hendry has been consistently linked with Celtic, today the DR has been upping the price of the young Scot but for all of the extra hundreds of thousands of pounds it is still a pittance for Celtic.

We can afford players who are young and show potential, Celtic are the masters of polishing a gem to the finished product.

With Ajer, Tierney and Ralston themselves all 20 or under, the addition of Hendry would have Celtic with a very young backline, one that could play for many seasons to come.

With the transfer window open we must seize this opportunity and secure a starting defender, one who can not only play in the premiership as he now does, but also in Europe, which Compper cannot do due to being cup-tied.

Across town we are seeing a club at Ibrox loaning everyone it can til the season ticket money comes in so they can again go back to soft loans.

Celtic have no need for the Auld Biskit Tin, we have a need for a Centre Back, Hendry is our stated target, we should meet the valuation and bring him to Paradise.
