Celtic boss Ronny Deila has been quoted as saying that Patrick Roberts will be hard to leave out of the team in the wake of his 2 goals vs Hearts on the weekend. Quoted in STV Ronny said:

“He was involved maybe seven or eight times on the ball and scored twice, what more can you expect?

“It will be hard to leave him out.

“Every time he has it in the right places something happens. We need to keep feeding him the ball.”

Such words will come as a comfort to Celtic fans who have been perplexed at the lack on game time given to Celtic’s more attacking minded players. Ryan Christie, Scott Allan and Patrick Roberts often feature in debates on social media about who should make the team and why.

Celtic have a catch up game midweek vs Dundee FC and it will be interesting to see if Ronny rotates the squad. After these remarks he may well have to re think the team line up that would likely have seen fresh legs come in for the away trip. Given his youth it is hard to believe that a young lad like Roberts will have any problem backing up.

Should he take the pitch on Tuesday vs Dundee FC and on the weekend vs Motherwell, he will play in the Scottish Cup semi final as a starting player, a title that any 12 million pound player should expect. The Newco would dearly love to have a player of Roberts talents, it is for this reason he must be unleashed upon them at Hampden. Today the gaffer says he will be hard to drop, if he plays the same vs Sevco, he will be hard to keep for the full length of his loan.
