We have heard from various sources in the SMSM that there is a deadline for the transfer of Edouard to Celtic and all the noises coming out of Paradise is that the transfer will be completed.

He isn’t the only one with an impending deal that wouldn’t be hard to get over the line.

Today we have seen the story break of Celtic’s interest in John McGinn, a player who has long been linked with a move to his boyhood heroes and with Scott Allan likely to move in the other direction this is again a sign Celtic are going to get their business done quickly.

James McClean played at Paradise for Scott Brown’s testimonial and immediately revealed a wish to sign for his heroes, with his club West Brom having been relegated and with Stuart Armstrong unlikely to stay, it is another deal that could be completed quite easily.

Should we pick up these players then it all depends on if we are maintaining our current forward line, should Moussa go we will no doubt buy another striker.

Should he stay then essentially we can then spend the rest of the summer plotting moves for an experienced Centre Half and a Right Back to push Lustig, Gamboa and Ralston.

Last season we won the treble and for all intensive purposes we walked the League, we could all see where we were missing a player after the transfer for Rivaldo Coetzee collapsed leaving us a defender short.

Instead of leaving it to the end of the window Celtic seem to have learned from last years experience, hopefully, we secure the players we need and move those on who are either surplus to requirements or not willing to sign on long-term.

We don’t need to buy a lot this summer, but we do need to buy well, a few quality signings and we will go a level further above Aberdeen and the rest.
