Moussa Dembele: Bosman worth a bomb

Today we saw a star born.

We have bought a proven prospect from a League in the English Championship, that many would argue is at a higher level than the Scottish Premiership.

Moussa Dembele with 3 swings of his boot has just propelled himself into history as the first man to Skelp the Newco in the Premiership.

We have our man on a 4 year deal and i would suggest if you wanted to buy him now the club would laugh at anything less than £10 million.

If that’s what they are valuing Biton at then in reality he should be worth much more.

We have Barcelona in a matter of days and if the young Frenchman manages to score against the Blaugrana then you can take the figure we made for Virgil and times it by your favourite number.

Celtic have shown without a shadow of a doubt that there is a gulf between us and Sevco.

They were woeful.

Barry McKay played well bar some late theatrics, but all in all their defence was disjointed, their midfield slow and their strikers relegated to playing exclusively in their own halves.

We destroyed them today.

Niko Kranjcar should have picked up 3 or 4 yellow cards.

If Kranjcar were playing for Celtic he wouldn’t have made it to half time.

When you compare Kranjcar and Dembele as signings the two policies couldn’t be more stark.

On one hand they have picked up a player who has played extensively in the English Premier League.

By contrast Moussa Dembele was already wanted by English Premier League teams when he signed for Celtic this summer.

We have players turning down the BPL.

They have players who predate it.

Moussa Dembele unlike Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk is a striker.

Should he continue his exciting early season form in Europe, the money that was paid for those 3 wont be a starting bid on the 20 year old come next summer.

Celtic have not just surged into the lead in the Premiership having gubbed Aberdeen and Sevco and showing our true grit late against the Jambo’s, we have value added to the squad as a whole.

For example, Tom Rogic was the subject of a £7 million speculation from Arsenal. His 3 year contract ensures that if he is sold it will be for good money.

The same is true about James Forrest. We would have been lucky to get £250,000 for him 2 months ago. On his current form you would need millions to tempt the manager to sell out his 3 year deal.

But the most stark adding of value must be Dembele. His stocks must be through the roof.

Signed fora mere £500,000 in compensation we have snared a bargain not seen since Lubo or Henke.

At just 20 we have a starlet who will hopefully choose to mature into a footballer under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

Every other team in Scotland would be lucky to get their hands on such a talent at such a young age.

Moussa is not merely coming of age and adapting to life at Celtic but he is dominating it.

When Griffiths is fit, surely it is time for a 2 man attack up front to pillage Scotland.

Today a Hunskelper was born.

Whilst Dembele leads the line, the Shame will always be his victims.
