Stubbs, Stokes and Henderson

Former Celtic player Alan Stubbs has butchered any chance of ever being Celtic manager after losing a crucial Championship game to Morton. With the opportunity to cut Sevco’s lead to just 5 points, Hibs bottled it. Importantly Celtic Loan Bhoys Anthony Stokes and Liam Henderson played in the match with little to no effect.

Liam Henderson winces as Hibernian concede again.

This casts a shadow over the Parkhead career of Anthony Stokes in particular. Now the loss wasn’t his fault entirely, but that a Premiership striker can not dispatch a smaller team will do him no favours in returning to Parkhead. Indeed, his best career option while Ronny Deila is at the club would appear to be a permanent move to Hibernian.

Hibernian’s renowned jitters are coming out on queue as trophies are now there to be won. With a game against the Newco and a League Cup Final vs Ross County on the horizon, Hibernian again are embarrassing the colours I love. The culture at the club is one of failure, one of producing players for other teams and being Scotland’s perpetual bridesmaids.

This is not the culture we want to bring in to replace Ronny. Many feel we erred getting a manager whose achievements include doing push ups in his underwear after beating the drop. Getting a lower League manager, himself having already been beaten by Sevco, is of no use to Celtic. I would much prefer Ronny to the likeable Englishman.

But i digress, Celtic are 6 clear in the League and we ourselves have a Scottish Cup showdown with the ‘Ton. The double is a real opportunity for Celtic and if those trophies are picked up there is little doubt Ronny will at least be given the opportunity to attempt to qualify for the Champions League. If he doesn’t qualify then he can expect to be sacked. But whatever happens between now and August, after last night, Alan Stubbs will not manage Celtic.
