Moussa Dembele has missed out on Didier Deschamps World Cup squad with Les Blues after failing to replicate his first season at Paradise, mainly due to injury.

The big Frenchman is a popular player at Celtic and the fans would no doubt love to keep him in Hoops, whilst Brendan has spoken of a 2 year cycle with Moussa maybe what both the club and the player needs is a contract extension.

If his contract isn’t extended it will alert clubs looking to pay less than 20 million for him, if he enters the last year of his contract that will be even worse meaning that if there is a time to sell or sign it is now.

Recently we have seen Moussa linked with clubs with no pretensions to European Football, more pretensions to escape the drop or finish midtable.

If he does go this summer what can be said for sure is that it will be on a higher wage to a lesser club.

He is better off signing on for another 4 years where he will play with players in a team that is currently securing its long-term future at a shot of ten in a row and immortality among our fan base.

If he recaptures last years form and the right price from the right team comes in then we will make a fortune and his aspirations to play at the top will be secure, otherwise he can stay at Celtic where he is a cut above the rest and still playing in major games such as the Champions league and Glasgow derby.

A contract extension would be a win win for both the player and the club.

The only loser would be our opposition.
