Kris Ajer, Olivier Ntcham and Odsonne Edouard are in the papers again with agents, admirers and desperate hacks trying to see them all spirited away from the 9 in a row champions, should they get their wish these players will fill the holes left by their departures.

Domestically, there are several players in the SPFL who could easily slot into the Celtic starting XI, I have named a fourth player as I believe he is quality and that Left Back is still a question mark with neither Bolingoli or Taylor nailing the spot down.

For Odsonne:

Lawrence Shankland is one of Them, I get it, but had we bought him instead of Klimala we would have ourselves a player who knows the run of the game in Scotland and maybe even have gotten him a bit cheaper.

A move for the Dundee United frontman would be relatively straight forward, we can afford the transfer and could even send Polish Paddy or Bayo the other way on a season-long loan to sweeten the deal, both strikers look like they are miles away from being part of Lenny’s first team plans.

For Ajer:

Scott McKenna is a player going no where at Aberdeen, at 23 he needs a move away or will fall further into obscurity, Aberdeen’s ridiculous asking price will come down substantially this year especially with the big Scot wanting away and professing his love of Celtic.

With Ajer’s agent desperate to make a casher on the back of his transfer, expect to hear plenty about him being linked away, however, should Kris stay, we could have McKenna take Jozo’s place in the first team squad.

At a club of Aberdeen’s size he has achieved quite a bit, but that team and manager will take him no further, at Paradise Lenny and Jullien to his side would carve the player into a weapon on fields foreign and domestic.

For Ntcham:

Lewis Ferguson is a stand out in Scotland, of course his uncle defines the word Fud, but if we are to let that logic stop us from signing players we would have let Dalglish slip through our fingers for a policy no better than that of the quintessential.

At Central Midfield he would be a ready replacement fro Ntcham should someone meet the clubs valuation, Rogic if he is injured or Christie when deputising on the right, he would certainly not be a project and a player at just 20 who is within our business model, he would have the opportunity to shine at Celtic and earn us many millions of pounds down the line.

To provide competition for Taylor, maybe allow Bolingoli out on loan:

Aaron Hickey is a player we probably wish signed on longer and that we loaned out, at Left Back he has been dominant in a pathetic Hearts team itself on the brink of relegation with a playing list having had its wages threatened.

Bringing the lad back to Paradise may not be so problematic either, we have a 30% sell on, we could wave that in negotiation, pay in or around a million and send a few players to Tynecastle to get match experience.

Players like Afolabi, Shved, Connell, Henderson, Hendry, Ralston, Kouassi, Okoflex, Aitchison and O’Connor are miles away from first team selection, we could easily farm them out to Dundee United, Aberdeen and Hearts as make weights in deals.

In some cases if it can be organised, on permanent transfers even, Ralston and money for Hickey, Bayo and money for Shankland, Kouassi and Hendry and money for McKenna and Ferguson.

Trim the deadwood and then bring in the best in the League in the positions we need them.

Of course I hope we keep the family silver but if it is sold then these players would fit into the team well, they are all young, within our targeted business plan and would win us trophies now and then mature into assets we could cash in on down the line.
