There has been a lot of chat about who our manager will be, most of it surrounding Roy Keane and Eddie Howe but when the latter pulled out of talks with Celtic at the eleventh hour all the focus has switched to former Socceroos manager Ange Postecoglou.

The club has applied for him to be given an exemption to manage in Europe as he doesn’t have a UEFA pro license, the same mercy was given Pedro Caixinha and looks set to be green lighted.

Since Celtic have applied we know that once UEFA make a decision we will either have Ange, but when exactly can he come to the club?

Ange may have to wait several weeks to get the dispensation meaning recruitment cannot begin in earnest until the end of the month, he will also have to self isolate for 2 weeks meaning we will be entering into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League with Kennedy and Strachan in the dugout more than likely.

That our back up option who has been tracked for months doesn’t immediately qualify to manage in Europe is farcical, that we are now mathematically looking at not having a gaffer able to take a training session before the season starts is an absolute scandal.
