Vasillios Barkas is on the brink of a 4 year deal at Celtic, the Dutch born goalkeeper who is currently at AEK and has been capped by Greece 10 times is the subject of an increased bid believed to be in the region of 4.5 million euro with a 10% sell on included.
He is reported to have a 15% sell on from his last club so you can’t blame the Greek team for inserting a clause of their own.
With less than a week before the start of the season it is a massive piece of business for Celtic with number 1 the only region where we are noticeably understrengthed.
As reported by the Glasgow Times:
Celtic are on the verge of completing a £4.5million deal for Greek goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas.
The Hoops had submitted an initial £3.2million bid for the stopper which was rejected by his club AEK Athens as they wanted closer to £5million. But now it is understood that the Glasgow giants have lodged an offer of around £4.5million with add-ons that could take the fee to where Barkas’ side are hoping for.
It is also believed there is a 10 percent sell-on clause which has been added to any deal.
And Herald and Times Sport now understands the deal – which would be a four-year contract – is close to completion.
