Celtic are off to a flying start during the January window with a bid already received by Dunajska Streda which isn’t far below their valuation of Ivorian striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Hopefully the business can be concluded quickly now that the window is open and we don’t see the same intransigence and low balling that saw the McGinn fiasco play out during the summer.

Also before the window opened Celtic had done the groundwork on a deal for Timothy Weah, depending on who you believe that deal looks as good as done meaning that we may well have both of the 2 strikers that Brendan is chasing signed in the coming days.

Weah however is only rumoured to be joining for 6 months before returning to PSG, an idea for Celtic would be to replicate the deal that saw Lewis Morgan sign from St. Mirren and then be immediately loaned back to the Championship team.

A similar deal for Lawrence Shankland would allow Celtic to pick up the best player in the Championship whilst allowing Ayr United to keep him for the title run in.

Once Timothy Weah leaves back to PSG we would see him come to Celtic on a full time basis, hopefully in the chase for 9 in a row.

With Shankland available for mere hundreds of thousands of pounds, he is a player that Celtic should buy on speculation, there is no point allowing our cross town rivals to pick up a 20 goal striker for pennies.
