Bite the hand for £5 million

If Aston Villa want to come in for Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen around the £5 million mark, you would think that amount represents an amazing deal for Celtic. After a great season last year, Johansen has been below par this term and needs a change. I wrote he should be sent out on loan a few days ago, but for £5 million, surely you would accept the offer.

We could cover the £1.5m we spent on Erik Sviatchenko, buy one or more of our reported targets Fanendo Adi, Mohamed Elyounoussi or Kolbeinn Sigthorsson for about £2.5m and pick up Ljuban Crepulja for £300,000.  If those talks stall over money we could up that to £400,000. We could then offer the rest to Hearts for Osman instead of going the Pre contract route which has become increasingly popular across the City.

A defender, a wizkid and a couple of forwards for Stefan Johansen? Bite the hand doesn’t do that justice! Hopefully Aston Villa do come in for him, we can make some money and spend it on our targets. We have a massive fixture list in the next few weeks including a League Cup Semi Final, a Top of the League game vs Aberdeen, where victory could effectively seal the 5NRO and action in the Scottish Cup. If we can have an effective transfer window our chances of securing only our 4th treble in our unbroken history improves dramatically.
