Celtic get double European boost

News today that Celtic have been drawn at home against either Djurgården of Sweden or Ferencváros of Hungary which follows up yesterday’s news of a home draw to KR Reykavik.

Being able to remain in Scotland or close by is a huge benefit, a trip to the arctic circle and a plastic pitch would have been a tough ask as would a trip to Scandanavia or central Europe.

With the ties being one off affairs with no away goals and extra time and penalties to settle the tie should they end in a draw, Celtic will be confident of getting through to Septembers 3rd round.

The draw will not be easy by any means with both the Hungarians and Swedes sure to provide a stern test, but missing out on another game vs Cluj is a bonus.

Hopefully we get through these ties and get another home draw, the playoff round will be home and away, at least we have been lucky for the first two rounds of the competition.
