Odsonne Edouard remains a Celtic player despite interest south of the border, it has been reported today in The Argus that Brighton has looked at signing Eddie but have been scared off by Celtic’s asking price, believed to be in excess of £40 million.

This is great news, the idea that one of Europe’s finest young players would move to a bottom feeding club in England is fanciful, you can’t blame them though with all the success that neighbours Southampton have had in buying Celtic’s best players and selling them on.

But if Brighton want to be a stepping stone for talent then they should look elsewhere, Eddie simply can’t be sold this season.

If teams are honestly upset at a  £40 million asking price when they pocket over twice that for merely escaping relegation then you really need to ask yourself who they are chasing this window?

Regardless, Celtic’s hardline stance, Eddies willingness to negotiate a new contract and the oppotunity to become a Celtic legend are all pulling in Celtic’s favour.

Hopefully we can get a one year extension signed that will serve both the player and the club going forward.
