It has been a good week for Celtic, we have won in Europe, gone back top of the League, re-signed Ntcham and today added Christie to a 3 year extension, it now leaves the one piece of the jigsaw left, a new deal for Dedryck Boyata.

The big Belgian was attacked by all and sundry for his behaviour when we fell out of the Champions League, since then he has been near flawless and has been a rock in a defensive structure that is forever changing.

Celtic needs stability at Centre Half and with Benkovic only here on a loan, we will be in need of long-term players in that position.

Boyata is poised to walk away for free in the summer and can sign a pre-contract in January, a matter of just weeks away.

Celtic will no doubt need to put a lucrative offer before him but if we do he would be well advised to sign it.

We are chasing another treble, on our way to 10in a row and the club is getting better in the continent, should he stay he would be a player we would be looking to build a defensive structure around along with Tierney.

Again, we will need to buy another Centre Half hopefully in January and possibly a new Right Back as well, if he stays on it will be with increased responsibility.

It was reported that he wanted assurances from clubs of a first-team spot, he has those assurances at Paradise and the managers respect and loyalty.

Hopefully he repays them by accepting a new deal.
