Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele are coming into form at just the right time, the gala games against Sevco are upon us and just as they hit peak form, Compper and Ajer are proving the defence we have craved since August.

Compper was Rodgers first choice transfer target and no sooner had he been secured than he was injured in our training camp in the Gulf.

Now after finally making his debut in our 3-0 win over Morton we can see what the fuss was all about, he looks a strong assured, experienced and eager player desperate to reinvigorate his career after a season on the sidelines at Leipzig.

Young Ajer has been a revelation in Hoops since coming into the team after the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Hearts.

He is strong in the air, plays the ball out from the back and tackles ruthlessly, at his age we have unearthed a gem to build a defensive structure around alongside Kieran Tierney.

Of course, he will need a partner at Centre Half and Compper looks the most likely, he was brought in to fill that position after all.

For all the talk about closing gaps, you have to feel for Brendan, he has a team beset by injuries for the entire year and as soon as Sevco manage to win a few games it has lead to hysterics off the radar.

We would dearly love to be bringing, Griffiths, Roberts and Gordon to Ibrox, let alone Boyata, Armstrong, Johnston, Hayes, Bitton and Ralston, but fate has conspired to thin our strength and of course this has affected us.

Now is the time for the new Bhoys to stake their claim, Hendry will likely get a run with KT, Ajer and Compper and that is a very qualified backline, no one with much playing time together but one which should hold the line.

Up front, if Edouard wants to stay at Celtic or even to challenge among the multi-millionaires at PSG, he must realise his potential, there is no better stage than away to Them, the footballing world will be watching.

Moussa Dembele has had his value halved, going from one of the most feared young strikers on the Continent to an injured and misfiring player not even feared by those he has Skelped on many occasions.

The Shame may have forgotten Moussa’s strength, but he will be there to remind them and all his former suitors just why he is a very special player.

Again, the world will be watching and if he wants to stake his claim for a seat on the plane to Russia he must again become the assassin we know him to be, Sevco need put back in their place, he is the Bhoy to do it.

This Sunday we will find out a lot about the playing group and also our pretensions to both a double treble and 10 in a row, it is time for our Bhoys to shut up their critics, the deluded and stamp our name all over the Premiership title.

Nothing else will do.
