The Times has reported that an offer of £15 million has been accepted for Odsonne Edouard from Leicester meaning the once prolific striker will join up with Brendan Rodgers again.

The move is for a lot less than we were expecting just a year ago but such has been the slide in form from one of the hottest young prospects in Europe to a player who by the end of the campaign almost looked bored of playing.

As reported in the Times:

Leicester City have won the race to sign Odsonne Édouard from Celtic. The coveted 23-year-old is understood to prefer a reunion with Brendan Rodgers, who signed him for Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain for a club record £8million in 2018 after a successful loan spell in Scotland, over a move to either Arsenal or Inter Milan.

The deal is expected to be sanctioned as soon as Celtic confirm their new manager. They are waiting on approval from Uefa to appoint Ange Postecoglou, having agreed compensation with Yokohama F Marinos, his present club. The Australian does not possess European coaching qualifications, so must apply for an exemption based on his experience.

With Ange Postecoglou hopefully in next week the transfer can go through very quickly, the same could yet happen with regards to Kris Ajer who would fetch a similar fee.

This would give Ange a £30 million war chest with which to rebuild the club which could grow even more with Christie and even McGregor likely to have bids accepted should the right money arrive on Dom McKay’s desk.
