Celtic have suffered our first and hopefully last injury of the international break with news filtering through that Liel Abada has pulled up in training.

The extent of the injury is not yet known, we can only hope it isn’t severe as we will need him on deck for the Champions League which starts away to Feyenoord on the 19th of September.

We have James Forrest, Yang and also Tilio in that position however the latter is also injured as we await his first match for the Champions.

As reported by The Herald:

Liel Abada has picked up an injury while on international duty with Israel.

Celtic will be hopeful they won’t lose another key player to the treatment table.

The winger pulled up at the end of a training session with his national team with a quad injury.

He will now miss his side’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Romania tomorrow and will be sent for a scan to discover what damage has been done.

Israel manager Alon Hazan said: “He felt a pinch in his muscle.”

Abada recently signed a new long-term contract at Celtic after Brendan Rodgers convinced the 21-year-old to commit his future in Glasgow.
