Jeremy Toljan’s arrival at Celtic has quietened the continual gripes of Celtic fans over the performances of Mikael Lustig, he looks a complete Right Back who is steady in defence and always popping up on the flanks in attack.
It has been reported today that Celtic made a bid for Timothy Castagne of over 10 million euro or around 9 million pounds, a figure that would border our club record fee paid for Edouard in the offseason.
If this is true, then surely that money can be made available to make Toljan a permanent member of the team, Right Back will have wages opened up in the coming months with both Lustig and Gamboa off contract in the summer.
That money can be put to Toljan’s wages and Ralston can play understudy to the German, himself being on a 4 year deal.
If Toljan is worth the money or not will be shown to us in the coming 10 days as we will play Valencia home and away and also go to that nightmare plastic pitch vs Kilmarnock.
If he shows his worth in Europe and maintains his excellent domestic form then the money we had earmarked for a Right Back must be offered to Borussia.
Right Back has been our Achilles heal for sometime, it is time to spend on the area and heal the wound, if Toljan can prove himself on the continent then he will show himself to be the player we have been screaming for.
