Few people in the Commonwealth itself are more belligerent with their Republican politics than the fans of the famous Glasgow Celtic. Derided by many as “Fenian Bastards” they have taken the term on board as a term with unrepentant pride. So when we see arguably the best established Independence movement in the Commonwealth being attacked by these very activists it opens up serious questions to the social and criminal policies of the SNP.
The Scottish Nationalist Party is itself far from a left wing platform. It is essentially a middle class centrist party which offers an alternative to the alleged left of the Labour Party. Now lets give Corbyn time with that one, but since Blair Labour have been a centre right party at best. This points to a serious issue in Scottish politics, where is the left?
