Greg Taylor has been reported to be keen on a move to Celtic and with news breaking that Kilmarnock want 3 million for him, it is an affordable deal, however one that Lawwell will likely haggle over.
Instead of going through a protracted transfer battle, Celtic should offer Jack Hendry as part of the deal, the 1.2 million pound transfer has been a disaster and he is not worth that much anymore, so a further player on loan should break the deal.
The player who has no future at Celtic and has been a monumental waste of money has been Eboue Kouassi, he has the pedigree to be a top player but has shown little to none of it a Celtic.
The idea would be to send him on a season long loan with Celtic obviouslly taking a large amount of the wages on board, something we will do regardless.
From there Kilmarnock can hopefully work a miracle with him like they did with Kris Ajer, if not he comes back in May and has his contract ripped up.
The last edifices of the Rodgers reign need to be dismantled, Hendry and Kouassi would not be missed, in truth, nor would 3 million to just meet Kllies valuation, but if we are to haggle, why not prune some deadwood and get a good look at a player who could be a gem, but is miles from selection and is more like a lump on the wage bill and a wasted squad number.
Either way, Greg Taylor looks an exciting prospect, let’s hope this business is concluded quickly and we can see him in Hoops for September 2.
