Le Guen vs Pedro

In season 2006-07 Paul Le Guen had the worst season by a Rangers (Oldco) manager failing to see out the first year of his contract.

Now 11 years later Rangers (Newco) have a candidate to do even worse.

Paul Le Guen lasted 21 rounds in which he picked up 10 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses.

He did, however, win 3 and draw one to help the liquidated club to the top of its UEFA Cup group.

He was sacked the same week that Rangers lost to Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup so has no record in that competition.

He has the infamy of being the first boss to be horsed out of the League Cup at home by a lower league team, that team, St. Johnstone now sits above Sevco on the league ladder.

Now compare Pedro Caixinha.

Last year he won 6 out of his 10 Premiership matches drawing 2 and losing another 2.

Those losses to Celtic 1-5 and to Aberdeen 1-2 were 2 iconic moments at Govan for the away supporters.

This year he has visibly gotten worse, after 7 games he has 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.

Both of those losses were at home and both to teams playing in Green, a colour he has banned.

So 35 points for Le Guen from 21 games up against 31 points in 17 is the current equation.

Pedro needs 5 points in his next 4 fixtures to prevent him becoming statistically the worst manager in Ibrox history.

Of course, when you add the Scottish Cup defeat last year and Progres Niederkorn into the mix he already looks like the worst by some way.

With a training ground bust-up now reported in the SMSM, it seems unlikely he will get the chance to lead them past the weekend if he fails to win.
