Celtic took a massive step towards European football after Christmas with a 3-0 away win over Anderlecht last night.

Amazingly it was our first ever clean sheet away from home in the Champions League, our largest ever win in the group stages and our first away win since 2012.

Those achievements were built on the back of an amazing 605 passes of which 86% were accurate as we dominated possession with 63% of the football being played by Brendan Rodgers Celtic team.

If we are to remember our famous win over Barcelona where we surrendered over 80% of possession at home the difference in style couldn’t be starker.

Rodgers is transferring the dominating mentality we have domestically to the Continent.

Our upcoming fixtures with Bayern Munich will provide an acid test, if we can get a win and a draw we will be in pole position to qualify for the mega money in the last 16.

Regardless we have a couple of huge European nights to look forward to in Paradise with qualification to at least the Europa League in our own hands.

If we do secure Europa League football or better, you would like to think that would encourage the board to free up funds in January for a fresh face or 2.

Our club is getting bigger and stronger before our eyes.

The future is ours.
