Time to buy and cut

Sharing is caring!

Like most i am more upset than angry, today our crest was sullied. Celtic put out a team that for all our early enthusiasm of a Revolution looked more like a resolution of despair. We played an awful brand of football in Gibraltar tonight.

It is time that Rodgers wielded the axe, he can start with Efe Ambrose. How many more key goals can he give away? When is enough enough? I love Celtic with all my heart, that doesn’t mean i should be the starting Centre Back. Efe needs to go.

When we are offered 7 million euro for Nir Biton who seemed hell bent on scaring away prospective suitors by doing nothing in defense or attack, it boggles the mind. His passing was woeful and he gave far to much space to their attacking players.

Scott Brown was little better and the Captain appears to have his best years behind him.

The lack of movement in midfield and the endless long balls, back passes and side passes against part timers was frankly pathetic.

We barely ever built the play up from the back and our lack of tempo in attack was stark as we endlessly failed to take on a team who couldn’t sell out the few seats that their athletic field had to offer.

We all point and laugh at the Shame and their imaginary war chest, but for all our boasts of a new era, tonight was worse than anything Ronny ever served up.

Rodgers must now get through the next tie with the same flawed team we had hoped to see overhauled. I do however believe that we will be good enough at Paradise but unless we invest for the next round now we may as well be knocked out.

If there was any conversation about whether Celtic needs to buy and buy big, it has now been answered. Money has been promised to the manager, season ticket sales are through the roof and sponsorship is at record levels.

The time to cut and buy is now.
