Why search for an attacking mid? Give Allan his chance to shine

There is a lot of talk about the traps on who else we need to bring in during this window, a lot of it centres around Right back with Lustig finding few friends after a meek performance in the Derby, many more want to see us buy at Centre Half with our obvious deficiencies in that position, however, there are repeated calls for an attacking midfielder to be brought in.

This has been made all the worse by the broken hand to Tom Rogic, but instead of looking for another player to add to our midfield roster, maybe it is about time that we gave the one man whose Celtic career never took off a chance, Scott Allan.

He is proven in Scotland, sought after as well, he is an attractive Footballer who has a strong passing game, can hold up the ball and puts in a shift defensively, why wouldn’t we consider him for first team selection when we need players in his exact position?

Ntcham and Brown do not play well together, that much is clear, hopefully we never again see Calmac at Left Back again and Broony now needs to earn his spot, his past heroics doesn’t have him walking into this Celtic side.

Allan would be perfect to play alongside Christie and Calmac in the engine room of the team with Forrest and Sinclair on the wings, he at least deserves his shot, the lad has done nothing wrong after all.

If we see Allan leave during this window or the next without having played for Celtic we will have had a player full of potential run down a contract where he really should have been given the chance to fight for a new one.

If we bring in a new player he will only be another name demanding game time when Rogic returns, remember we have Burke to slot into the team as well as Mikey who will likely drop back into the midfield rotation now that Weah and Bayo are on board.

Hopefully the board put more money into the team where it is desperately needed, in the back line, we have plenty of quality in the midfield, some of them are just not getting a game.
